 Completely
residential in nature, Hugh Ash Manor is designed specifically
for active senior citizens who live self-reliant lifestyles.
Since 1971, it has been
our purpose to provide residents of moderate income pleasant living
accommodations in a gracious setting.
Much care is given to creating an environment rich in cultural
and recreational opportunities where residents can choose new
friends and have fun doing things together. With our informal
concept and atmosphere, Manor residents can participate in planned
activities to whatever degree they wish.

At Hugh Ash Manor, residents
do not assign any of their possessions to the facility. Apartments
are rented on a lease basis. The original lease is one year,
but may be terminated by the resident with one-month's notice.
All utilities are
provided in the rental rate except telephones, which are individually
installed. Each Manor apartment is all-electric and comes equipped
with the following:

 Beautifully
designed, Hugh Ash Manor is a seven-story, fire-rated, concrete
facility consisting of 148 apartments (112 bedroom units and
36 efficiencies).
The main floor
offers a lounge, entertainment center and administrative offices.
Laundry rooms, equipped with electric washers and dryers, are
available on each of six residential floors.
The grounds include
two shuffleboard courts, and ample parking is available for
a minimal monthly fee.

 Located
in the lush natural environment of Central Florida, Hugh Ash
Manor enjoys the peaceful, residential setting of DeLand. Shopping,
dining and churches are all within easy walking distance from
the Manor as are Stetson University, the Cultural Arts Museum
and our beautiful, historic downtown district.
DeLand is a warm-hearted
city shaded by a canopy of majestic oak trees. With Daytona
Beach only 25 miles to the east, and Orlando and theme parks
40 miles to the south, residents find art, music, festivals,
fishing, golf and all types of recreational opportunities readily
available and close at hand.

Hugh Ash Manor, Inc.
is a project of the First Presbyterian Church of DeLand. It's
board of Directors is appointed by the Church's Board of Directors
and has provided the leadership for planning, construction,
continued operation and guidance of the project. Dr. Hugh F.
Ash, Pastor Emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church, served
as Founding President of the FHA-HUD 236 Project, and financing
is guaranteed by these agencies. Residency is open to persons
of any faith, creed or race. Residents need not be professing
Christians, although Christian standards will be maintained
in the operation of The Manor.
